Google releases Chrome 94 security update (94.0.4606.81) with fixes for 4 High risk vulnerabilities

Google has released Chrome 94 security update (94.0.4606.81) for Windows, Mac and Linux with fixes for multiple vulnerabilities.

An attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities to take control of impacted systems.

The Chrome security update patched the following 4 High severity vulnerabilities, each discovered by external researchers:

  1. CVE-2021-37977: Use after free in Garbage Collection.
  2. CVE-2021-37978: Heap buffer overflow in Blink.
  3. CVE-2021-37979: Heap buffer overflow in WebRTC.
  4. CVE-2021-37980: Inappropriate implementation in Sandbox.

In addition, none of these vulnerabilities had known exploits in the wild as noted in this Chrome advisory.

Google also released Chrome 94 (94.0.4606.85) for Android on October 11, 2021.
